The Thailand Tourism Authority (TAT) and Airbnb have launched a new partnership for digital nomads.
Thailand is one of the most popular destinations for long-stay travelers and digital nomads. After the pandemic, the ministry promoted several initiatives to enforce local economies and businesses thanks to the remote work trend. First, vibrant and innovative cities like Bangkok are ideal for long-stay travels and remote work. Second, the country provides convenient visa schemes for digital nomads.
Now, TAT and AirBnB started a new partnership for digital nomads. The goal is to create a vibrant Thailand hub. So, the project will feature the best long-term rental properties in the country and flexible entry requirements integrating current visa regulations. Furthermore, Airbnb will support educational campaigns to promote sustainable hospitality and remote work while traveling.
As part of the “Live and Work Anywhere” project, Airbnb aims to select the best places for digital nomads. And create a partnership with local government to facilitate travel and administration. So, people from everywhere in the world can move to live and work where they please.
As the Thailand Tourism Authority Thapanee Kiatphaibool stated: “As we look to rebuild the country’s tourism sector and accelerate recovery. So, we are honored to partner with Airbnb on its global Live and Work Anywhere initiative to attract long-term travelers to Thailand.”
After Thailand, Airbnb aims to include other locations like:
- Indonesia
- Argentina
- Spain
- South Africa
- Dubai
- Portugal
- Italy
- Mexico
So, new partnerships for digital nomads are on the way to support this growing trend.
