Ramadan 2022 will add some key differences that include remote wok limited options in the region. The UAE government announced that some federal employees would have the possibility to work remotely on Fridays during Ramadan.
It’s estimated that Ramadan 2022 will start on April 2. However, it’s still hard to tell as all dates depend on the sighting of the moon, which won’t be determined until the night before. Therefore, the official announcement will come on April 1. The Holy Month of Ramadan will likely continue for 30 days ending May 2.
Ramadan & Remote Work
While the UAE government announced remote work possibilities, these still remain limited to a specific number of federal employees. Approximately up to 40% of employees of each government entity will be allowed to work remotely.
Remote work for these employees means working from home Fridays until Ramadan ends. Priority will be given to employees who live far away or have exceptional circumstances.
Additionally, the government said that the UAE federal government entities will be open from 9 AM until 2 PM, from Monday to Thursday. During Ramadan, the entities will open from 9 AM to 12 PM.
