As remote working continues increasing in every industry, and more people are saying goodbye to the office, new challenges arise. For most remote workers, being productive at home sometimes is a challenge when they have many distractions. However, online work gyms focus on helping remote workers increase their productivity and reduce isolation, among other things.

What are Online Work Gyms?

Whenever people want to lose weight, gain muscles, be more fit, and be healthier, the first place that comes to mind is the gym. There you have all the necessary equipment and trainers to help you reach your goals.

Online work gyms work similarly, but instead of working out the body, they help remote workers boost their productivity.

Statistics demonstrate that remote workers are more productive, but that doesn’t mean they don’t get distracted. When working from home, a lot of people struggle with distractions. Isolation is another common issue, and the idea of online work gyms is to overcome those challenges.

Ultraworking: The First Online Work Gym

Ultraworking offers the ultimate online work gym solution. The company was founded in 2016, and it consists of an online workspace that hosts workout sessions.

So, how exactly Ultraworking sessions work?

Participants, for a monthly membership, are highly encouraged to be productive by accountability. They set up their goals, and then they enter into a Zoom call where a moderator monitors participants encouraging them to stay focused. People work in 30-minutes cycles with 10-minute breaks.

Participants get to work on their tasks while feeling accompanied by other people around the world that have the same goal: To be more productive.

The biggest thing I realized is that when I focused during Work Cycles, I can get a workday done in 3 hours…By getting the work done in disciplined cycles, that then frees me up to work on bigger things, as well as showing me where I was wasting time in the past. Virtual Coworking Spaces

Besides Ultraworking, other platforms have the same concept of creating a virtual space that helps remote workers be more productive.

Caveday is an example of another online co-working space, in which, for a monthly fee, you work with strangers vía Zoom in work sprints up to 52 minutes. However, the difference is that you have guided breaks that involve jumping jacks, breathing exercises, stretching, and inspirational chats to motivate users.

Being productive is a challenge for most employees, whether remote or non-remote. However, with the rise of remote working tools and online platforms such as Caveday and Ultraworking, the experience of working from home – or from anywhere – keeps getting better.
