Flexible schedule vs work from home

flexible schedule vs work from home

In the debate about flexible schedule vs work from home, a recent study reveals a preference for the first option.

After the pandemic, most people preferred hybrid and remote work arrangements. However, as restrictions lift, employees’ preferences are divided between work from home and flexible schedules.

According to the payroll solutions firm Deluxe’s State of the Workplace survey, most respondents prefer a flexible schedule to work form home. The survey shows that employees think improving the work environment is the best option. However, 63% of employees said they provide a flexible schedule, and only 43% of employers said their company offers the option.

Furthermore, the company highlights mental health benefits, often seen as a missed opportunity. According to the survey, mid-size companies are more likely to provide benefits:

  • 36% (51-100 employees)
  • 36% (21-50 employees)
  • 21% (20 employees)

The survey provides other insights besides the debate about flexible schedules vs work from home. Depending on the employees’ age, small- and mid-size businesses might risk the Great Resignation. 72% of employees are unlike to change jobs the next year. However, 18- to 24 respondents are more likely to look for other positions.-year-olds were most likely to say they probably will consider a job change.

To recap, a flexible schedule vs work from home relates to other benefits. And health insurance is the second main concern for most employees.
