When the company’s lease at Brunswick Landing ends in May, Wayfair’s customer service branch in Brunswick will close.

The facility already closed operations earlier this month. Here’s what a Wayfair spokesperson had to say.

“This team has joined our virtual customer service team and is now working remotely. Like many companies, we have seen an increase in employees effectively transitioning to remote work, driven in part by the COVID-19 global pandemic and cost savings efforts.” Wayfair Spokesperson

According to WMTW News, the number of employees included in the team was not disclosed in detail. But the spokesperson confirmed that this is a part of the Boston-based company’s decision to lay off about 1,750 workers, or 10% of its worldwide staff. However, the corporation doesn’t offer information about particular locations.
