Türkiye Launches New Digital Nomad Visa

Türkiye is the latest country to launch a digital nomad visa for foreign remote workers.

The Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry created a dedicated website where those interested can complete the first application stages.

The country wants to lure digital nomads to destinations such as Istanbul, Dalaman, or Izmir.

Like all visas, there are specific requirements to meet.

To apply, you have to be between the ages of 21 and 55 and hail from most EU countries, the UK, USA, or Canada.

The visa will allow remote workers to stay in Türkiye for anywhere between six months and a year. Remote workers also have the possibility of renewing their visas once or twice.

To qualify, you’ll need to have a monthly income of $3,000 (€2,800) or an annual income of $36,000 (€33,800). Plus, proof of employment or a business contract is needed.

Whether you’re a freelancer, entrepreneur, or employed by a company outside Türkiye, as long as you’re working remotely, you’re eligible to apply.

The entire process is online, giving the freedom to apply for it from anywhere in the world.

The Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry has streamlined the process with a user-friendly website, where you can fill out an application form.

Once your application is accepted, you’ll need to take your new Digital Nomad Identification Certificate to your nearest Turkish consulate.
