Telecom Giant NTT To Allow Permanent Remote Work For 320,000 Employees

NTT Corp. is planning to standardize permanent remote work and abolish job relocation for all 320,000 employees.

All NTT offices in all regions will standardize permanent remote work and begin decentralizing the headquarters and management departments from the capital to core cities in fiscal 2022.

NTT also plans to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by fiscal 2040. Elimination of the use of paper is also on the agenda and the company plans to achieve this goal by 2025 through digitization.

The company will also increase the number of satellite offices from 60 to 260 by March 2023. This will make it easier for the workers to choose where to work.

NTT will devise a “job-based” personnel system which will define evaluation as duties . This system will be be in use by all management positions from October 2021. Women will hold 25% to 30% of executive positions by fiscal 2025.
