Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan stated Monday that it will permanently permit all of its attorneys in the United States to work from home.
Quinn Emanuel is reportedly the first AM Law 100 law firm to allow employees to work from home permanently. John Quinn, the firm’s chairman and founder, revealed the policy in a statement.
“Our lawyers should work from wherever they do their best work. We want to invite the best litigators to join our firm, wherever their desks are. Over the past 18 months, our lawyers have mastered the art of collaborating remotely and at the highest levels—without sacrificing camaraderie or the free sharing of ideas.”John Quinn, Chairman and Founder, Quinn Emanuel
Quinn stated, however, that the firm is not closing its doors.
“We are reimagining how we use our office spaces to emphasize the benefits of in-person meetings, team building and trial preparation when we do get together. We recognize there are valuable aspects of the in-office experience that are hard to replicate remotely. We intend to create an even more vibrant in-office experience.”John Quinn, Chairman and Founder Quinn Emanuel
Associate positions will be filled by current Quinn Emanual offices, and applicants must be linked with a law firm. However, associates are not required to be physically located in one of the firm’s 13 offices.
However, they must adhere to all applicable tax, bar entry, and other regulatory regulations.
