Digital nomads aren’t the only ones traveling around. After the pandemic, more students tried an experience abroad while studying remotely.
Following the trend, the rental booking portal Holidu researched the most liveable and popular cities for an experience abroad. According to this study, Ireland’s capital is one of the most favorite cities in the world for an ex-pat.
The study combined global search data for common search queries of people living abroad, including European and world-ranking cities.
Here are the most attractive cities for ex-pats:

- Dublin, Ireland – 17,570 average global monthly searches
- Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 13,200 average global monthly searches
- Barcelona, Spain – 12,000 average global monthly searches
- London, United Kingdom – 10,650 average global monthly searches
- Singapore, Singapore – 8,700 average global monthly searches
- Miami, United States – 7,800 average global monthly searches
- New York, United States – 7,550 average global monthly searches
- New York, United States – 7,550 average global monthly searches
- Hong Kong – 5,800 average global monthly searches
The ranking shows a growing tendency to find new places to work remotely and try new life experiences. And new locations become attractive cities for ex-pats and digital nomads.
