Amazon employees will now continue to work from home until January 2022, as per the e-commerce giant’s announcement on Thursday.

All corporate employees are expected to return to offices from Jan. 3, 2022. Amazon had previously planned for restarting on-site work from September 7 this year.

According to an Amazon spokesperson , employee health and well-being is a top priority for the company. Amazon will seek recommendations and advice from health care professionals before moving ahead with their return-to-office plans.

According to Amazon’s modified work from home policy, the company will allow corporate employees to work remotely twice a week after their return to office. If employees want more remote work days, they can apply for an exception. Amazon corporate employees will also be allowed to work from a domestic location for up to four weeks a year.

“Our thinking is predicated on what we believe will be most beneficial for customers, while also trying to give employees more flexibility in their work environment and lives.”A blog post by Amazon

Whenever Amazon employees return to office, they are required to wear masks if they’re not fully vaccinated.
