ABN Amro’s new remote working platform helps remote employees at large companies find suitable work spaces.

A work-from-home setting doesn’t suit everyone. Many people prefer an office-like setting and ABN Amro’s platform helps remote workers find workstations near their homes that are easily accessible via public transport.

The Green Desk app allows remote workers to find and book a work desk at a co-working space or at a shared corporate office.

A pilot with three companies, including the bank and PwC is already running, with Green Desk locations in Amsterdam, Haarlem, The Hague, Leiden, Rotterdam and Utrecht.

According to Floris ten Duis, innovation manager at ABN Amro and initiator of Green Desk, the project provides a practical assistance and “provides the opportunity for professionals from different disciplines and backgrounds to make new contacts”.

The Green Desk app solves challenges faced by those remote workers who don’t want to work full-time In their office and at the same time don’t prefer working from home either. While many initiatives have been taken by companies for their remote employees like provision of required tools to work from home, the Green App addresses the problems of those who don’t want to go too far away from their home.
