During the Pandemic, Remote Work Increased by 250% in Connecticut

According to the latest U.S. Census Bureau Data from the Connecticut Data Collaborative, almost one-fifth of employees in Connecticut worked from home during the pandemic. As businesses shifted towards a remote work model, there was an increase of 248% in remote workers in 2019.

The pandemic brought a set of changes to the way businesses operated. The most notable one was the increase of remote work on a global scale.

According to the report, only 5.6% of employees in Connecticut worked from home. Simultaneously, the number of jobs in Connecticut increased from 92.5% to 94.1% in 2021 due to travel restrictions and remote employees working for other companies. 

The report revealed an increase of 248% in remote workers in Connecticut. However, the service industry saw a decrease in employees as the pandemic made venues shut down.
