Man working remotely

Naukri.com, a popular jobs platform in India, reported a growing demand for permanent remote jobs. The portal recorded over 32,000 job searches for permanent and temporary remote jobs in the past six months.

As businesses and countries continue re-adapting to the new COVID variants, employees across the world have made it clear that the demand for remote work will only increase.

Increase of Remote Job Searches in India

Approximately 57% of the job searches were made for permanent remote jobs. Over 35,000 jobs searches were reported only during December 2021.

Naukri launched a new feature for “permanent remote” and “temporary remote”. The features enable them to see the increase in these types of work arrangements. And over 93,000 permanent and temporary jobs are listed, out of which 22% were exclusively permanent remote roles.

According to Pawan Goyal, Chief Business Officer, Naukri said:

There is a foundational change in how recruiters are setting up organizational structures. While uncertainty prevails due to the pandemic, more and more recruiters are acknowledging the benefits of work from anywhere like access to talent and more inclusion and are now beginning to make permanent changes to the human resource and infrastructure requirements at a corporate level”

Data from the platform revealed that the industries posting more remote jobs are IT and recruitment and staffing sectors.
