Honda has decided to allow full-time or part-time remote work opportunities to some U.S. associates.

Honda will adapt its policies to match the new ways of working. Honda’s vision aims at a collision free and carbon free future and remote work is the perfect means to achieve the same. Recently, Japanese Automobile giant, Toyota Motor Corporation also adopted a remote work model.

“This expansion of remote work opportunities reflects lessons learned over the past 18 months and a recognition of the needs of Honda’s current and future workforce. Our remote work policy creates more flexibility so that wherever works get done, Honda associates will continue to collaborate with each other and create value for our customers and society.”

Rich Richardson, vice president of Human Resources, American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

Honda plans to make changes to the policy change on October 1, 2021, but associates can start applying for remote work from August 30. Honda is planning to introduce “virtual” and “hybrid” work models that associates can apply for depending on their roles.

For those associates whose roles do not allow them to work from home, Honda is making an effort to understand the needs and interests of such associates. The company will then devise plans to better their on-site work experience.
