The Digital Nomads In-Residence project won two awards at the Conventa 2021 Best Event Awards. Promoting digital nomads’ lifestyles, Croatia is becoming one of the hottest hubs for working travelers.
A few months ago, the Croatian government announced a program for digital nomads. The initiative promotes remote work offering a year of free taxes to move in the country.
Last April, the Mayor of Croatian Dubrovnik, Mato Frankovic, launched the world’s first Dubrovnik Digital Nomads-in-Residence project. As a result, 10 digital nomads with different skill sets moved to Dubrovnik for 4 weeks. Coming from all over the world, the aim was to experience digital nomad life in Croatia. In addition, the group aimed to create strategies to improve tourism with the remote work revolution.
Expanding the project in Ljubljana, the Dubrovnik Digital Nomads-in-Residence program won two awards at Conventa 2021 Best Event Awards. The conference took place in the Slovenian capital. So, the event brings together tech leaders and remote companies to share insights on their innovation, results, and sustainability aims.
The Dubrovnik Digital Nomads-in-Residence project is a partnership between:
- Ana Hrnic, DIrector of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board;
- Deputy Mayor Jelka Tepsic;
- and Tanja Polegubic, of Saltwater Nomads.
Initially, the event was postponed because of Covid. And now the city is one of the hottest hubs for digital nomads.
