A growing public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its team, specializing in high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses. This role offers exposure to complex tax matters, including pass-through entities, individual tax returns, and estate and gift planning. The firm provides a collaborative environment, strong leadership visibility, and a clearly defined path to Senior Manager and Partner-level advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and review a diverse portfolio of tax engagements, including partnerships, S-Corporations, C-Corporations, and individual (1040) tax returns
  • Oversee tax compliance for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and estates
  • Review and provide guidance on estate, trust, and gift tax filings
  • Deliver proactive tax planning and advisory services for business owners and individual clients
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining trusted relationships through exceptional service
  • Mentor, coach, and review the work of senior and staff-level tax professionals to support development and quality standards
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities while ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations
  • Collaborate closely with firm partners on complex tax strategies, planning initiatives, and client advisory matters
  • Stay informed of changes in tax law and proactively advise clients on relevant impacts and opportunities
  • Manage multiple engagements, deadlines, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of public accounting tax experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred)
  • Strong experience with pass-through entities, individual (1040) tax returns, and entity taxation
  • Experience with estate, trust, and gift tax matters preferred
  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Strong client-facing, communication, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while delivering high-quality client service
  • Base salary: $150,000–$200,000 annually
