UBS Group adopts a hybrid work model. Switzerland’s biggest bank said on Monday that most staff can now mix remote work with their in-office time.

“We are committed to offering our employees the flexibility for hybrid working where role, tasks and location allow. Hybrid work options will be introduced on a country-by-country basis, with timing dependent on the local pandemic situation.”

According to the Financial Times, the policy could allow up to two thirds of UBS staff to integrate the hyrbid working model in their work lives.

UBS Chairman Axel Weber and former CEO Sergio Ermotti had already said at the beginning of 2021 that they were considering a flexible working model.

This move is in contrast to what JP Morgan Chase & Co and Goldman Sachs have planned for their employees. They’ve already started bringing employees back to office in the U.S. while American Express has decided to allow its employees to work from home for up to twice a week.
