The Department of Rural and Community Development has unveiled a slew of new programmes aimed at making remote employment more accessible and appealing to tens of thousands of people.

Remote Work Initiatives in Ireland

  • Remote employees will be able to utilise their local digital hub for free thanks to the Connected Hubs Voucher Scheme. The Scheme will provide at least 10,000 hot desk spaces, which will be available to both existing hub users and those who are using hub services for the first time. The Connected Hubs Network now includes 242 Remote Working locations. At Connected Hubs, you may identify your local hub and reserve the services you want. In the coming weeks, vouchers will be distributed to all registered users, so sign up now.
  • Each Local Authority will also get €50,000 in funds under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme. This would enable them to fund marketing efforts and promote remote working options in their respective regions.
  • The Connected Hubs 2022 Call provided €5 million in financing, which will be used to expand capacity and improve 81 current Remote Working facilities. Successful applications for the Connected Hubs Fund

With so many initiatives directed at remote workers and benefitting digital nomads, Ireland is set to become one of the best places to work in as a remote worker.
