A new national survey by Experian focused on savings and found that over 66% of Americans are looking for ways to reduce their monthly expenses. Due to constant cost of living increases, a vast majority of Americans are working two or more jobs to meet their expenses.

One of the reasons that employees can have more than one income source is remote work. According to Sean Snaith, director of the Institute for Economic Forecasting at the University of Central Florida, as the prices and housing have skyrocketed, it’s no surprise people are looking for additional gigs.

Necessity is the mother of invention, and if your one job isn’t paying all the bills, then I think many people are kind of forced into taking that side job.

Additionally, data analytics company Kantar surveyed 10,000 people in 10 countries. Their study suggests that Gen Z is the most impacted, with 40% having two or more roles. In second place are millennials with 36%, GenX with 30%, and Boomers with 21%.
