Royal Caribbean’s New Parternship with SpaceX´s Starlink Will Enable People to Work Remotely on Cruise Ships

Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean partnered with SpaceX’s Starlink, opening up the possibility for people to work remotely on cruise ships. The global cruise company said that the new partnership with Elon Musk’s Starlink satellites is a game changer as it will provide high-speed internet connectivity for guests.

One of the biggest impacts of the pandemic was remote work. Countries started embracing initiatives to improve their connectivity and attract digital nomads. But now, even cruise companies are looking forward to becoming digital nomad destinations.

Now, remote workers will be able to work on a cruise! Royal Caribbean group will be the first in the cruise industry to adopt SpaceX’s Starlink internet technology, allowing those who work remotely to work on the cruise.

President and Chief Executive Office, Jason Liberty, mentioned according to Informazione:

“Our purpose as a company is to deliver the best vacation experiences to our guests responsibly, and this new offering, which is the biggest public deployment of Starlink’s high-speed internet in the travel industry so far, demonstrates our commitment to that purpose,”

The installation of the new internet service, which Starlink provides nearly 3,000 low-orbit satellites, will begin “immediately” on all Royal Caribbean International and is expected to be complete during the first quarter of 2023.
