As part of a pilot programme, My Work Booth has partnered with Costa Coffee to bring its quiet, confidential work pods to several of the company’s coffee shops. In the city-region, two of them have been installed.
My Work Booth has developed a sound-proofed pod for remote workers who require a quiet and confidential space during the day.
It has produced the devices as an increasing number of individuals leave the traditional workplace behind, using technology and mobile equipment to enable people who would have previously worked behind a desk to work from anywhere. It is testing its pods in a trial programme and has partnered with Costa Coffee to install four of them.
There’s a stool, a table, a light, a power outlet, and a source of fresh filtered air in each one.
Users can book a booth by downloading the My Work Booth app, selecting the day, time, and length of their reservation at their preferred Costa Coffee location, and paying with a debit or credit card.
Workers will then receive an email with a QR code that they may use to gain entry to the booth.
Both are located in Manchester, at Costa on Portland Street and Media City in Salford.
My Work Booth is also testing the pods in London, with plans to expand their availability in March and April at yet-to-be-announced sites.
The company is using the Framery booth, which has been deployed in companies that require a quiet space and has earned honours for its ability to block out exterior noise even in loud environments.
Workers can accomplish specific activities that need focus, make discreet calls, and participate in video conferences in the booths, which contain charging stations for mobile devices.
