According to a research released on Thursday, 80% of employees in India desire more than just the company’s expectations as a motivation to come into work. However, they may have other reasons for wanting to work from the office.
According to research from Microsoft’s 2022 Work Trend Index Pulse Report, 91% of employees prefer to go to work if they can interact with their coworkers, and 92% would work from the office in exchange for the chance to strengthen team ties.
The research also revealed a widening divide relating to home-based employment and hybrid work between managers and staff.
The majority of workers, 93%, reported that they are productive at work. However, 91% of executives felt that hybrid work had made it more challenging to have faith in their employees’ productivity.

47 percent of employees and 58 percent of executives said they are “already burnt out” at work as a result of the “hyper focus” on production.
The results of the Microsoft study also showed that more and more workers are searching for chances to learn and develop while they are employed. India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi believes remote work is here to stay while employers are still divided about their opinion on the future of work.
Findings of The Report
- 90 per cent of employees in India say that they’d stay at their company longer if they could benefit more from learning and development opportunities. Globally, this average is 76 per cent.
- 66 per cent of employees in India say the best way to develop their skills is to change companies.
- 44 per cent of employees in India said their companies do not solicit employee feedback.
