A rural community in the Connemara Gaeltacht has launched a campaign that promotes it as one of the best places to work and live.

Conamara Láir is a community on the west coast of Galway. Their new “We’re Waiting For You” campaign highlights the opportunities available to remote workers and their families if they relocate to the region.

This campaign was launched by the Conamara Láir Community and Irish language body Údaras na Gaeltachta. There are several videos in the campaign that promote Conamara Láir as a great place for remote workers.

The Irish language body boasts of excellent remote working facilities in Gaeltacht communities across Ireland.

The campaign was launched on July 16 on Lá Mhic Dara (Macdara’s Day).

According to Máirín Ní Choisdealbha Seoige from Forbairt Chonamara Láir (Conamara Láir Development) the region is “one of Ireland’s cultural gems”.

“This proud community has not lost its confidence or spirit and we want to showcase to the world the wonderful opportunities and future this area can provide to people who wish to move home or relocate to Conamara Láir. We have a big future ahead and there are many opportunities for people to change and improve their lives.”

According to Údaras na Gaeltachta CEO Mícheál Ó hÉanaigh , this campaign sends a strong and positive message about the region.

“Conamara Láir is a historic and scenic area in which to live and start a business in and we are looking at innovative ways to attract people to live in the area.  The success of the gteic digital hubs over the past year has shown that you can connect with anywhere in the world from rural areas, areas with a better quality of life.”
