A report from Mickensey and Co. revealed that more than 15 million U.S. employees have left their jobs since April. And 40% of employees located in the U.S., Australia, Canada, Singapore, and the UK say they’re considering leaving their job in the next 3 to 6 months.
The pandemic changed everything. From how people perceived work, to how companies managed their teams. Having worked from home for almost 2 years, employees don’t want to return to the traditional work environment. Because of this, there has been a mindset change in how employees want to work.
Why do People want to Quit Their Jobs?
The report surveyed 5,774 employees of working age living in the U.S., Australia, Canada, Singapore, and the UK. 40% of them said they are ‘somewhat likely’ to quit their jobs in the next 3 to 6 months. And 64% of those considering living say they would do so without having another job secured.
What are the main reasons?
- 54% of employees don’t feel valued by their managers
- 52% of employees doný feel valued by their organizations
- 51% feel they don’t belong in the company.
Additionally, another reason why employees want to quit is that they know that now with remote work it’s easier than ever to get another job. The COVID-19 pandemic has increased opportunities at many companies to work from home and has accelerated attrition rates as employees prefer leaving a rigid workplace to another one that offers flexibility to some extent.
