For Biden, It’s Time for Americans to Get Back to the Offices

Joe Biden

U.S President, Joe Biden, urged Americans to return to the offices in his State of Union Address Tuesday night. He also mentioned how successful it has been to get kids back to school and that 75% of the nation is fully vaccinated, making it easier to return to pre-pandemic working structures.

Since the pandemic started, millions of Americans have worked from home. While some companies have returned to the offices this year, many companies are implementing permanent remote work arrangements or hybrid structures.

With 75% of the nation fully vaccinated, the U.S. President says the nation has the necessary tools to end the shutdown and businesses.

“It’s time for Americans to get back to work and fill our great downtowns again. People working from home can feel safe to begin to return to the office.”

Biden also mentioned that his administration would be on the lookout for new COVID-19 variants. He said that everyone needs to prepare for new variants but that the government got much better at detecting them over the last year.

He continued:

“If necessary, we’ll be able to deploy new vaccines within 100 days instead of many more months or years. And, if Congress provides the funds we need, well have new stockpiles of tests, masks, and pills ready if needed.”

Other Democratic politicians have also come out against indefinite remote work. For instance, New York City Mayor Eric Adams said that people need to start returning to the office and “Can’t stay home in your pajamas all day.”
