According to a recent survey, demand from job seekers for call center and remote customer support positions has surged by 400% in India since 2019, with Bengaluru leading the way.

According to statistics from the employment website Indeed, there was a high demand for call center and remote customer support jobs between January 2020 and January 2021, as evidenced by a 498.40% increase in job ads and a significant rise in jobseeker interest (1,405 per cent increase in clicks per million).

Bengaluru, which accounts for 19.14% of all job listings in this sector, is far and by the most popular city, followed by Delhi (9.33%), Mumbai (9.11%), Chennai (8.33%), and Hyderabad (6.31 per cent). The survey also stated that due to the rise of work-from-home as a dominating employment style, gig workforce increased throughout this time period.

Yet, as the economy improves and on-site work restart, there has been a little decline in both job advertising (by 73.50%) and jobseeker interest (by 64.50%) during the previous year.
