Join our team as a Senior Trial Attorney – Workers’ Compensation at Nationwide.
Location: Newport Beach, with a hybrid work model that may allow remote work depending on the candidate’s location. The attorney will primarily cover Boards in Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. Workers’ Compensation experience is preferred.
Key Details: No billable hours, 1:1 attorney/paralegal ratio.

Our Trial Division is a national team with approximately 40 offices across the US. Senior Trial Attorneys are seasoned litigators experienced in civil litigation within property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation. You will represent clients under various insurance policies as lead counsel and collaborate with a larger team. Caseloads vary in complexity and product lines, requiring a proactive, organized, and technologically savvy approach.
Responsibilities
- Independently demonstrate trial advocacy skills as lead counsel or team member, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to division standards.
- Require minimal oversight, working proactively with guidance from leadership.
- Utilize technology effectively and collaborate with support staff for case management.
- Stay updated on legal, procedural, and technological changes impacting liability and recovery litigation.
- Develop expertise in NTD concentrations, providing sound legal opinions and case valuations.
- Build and maintain professional relationships within the legal and insurance communities.
- Mentor junior attorneys and staff, fostering engagement and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Active license in the state of practice.
- Over eight years of relevant civil litigation experience.
- Strong litigation, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Technologically proficient and adaptable to legal industry changes.
Additional Details
