Remote Land Development Project Engineer (PE-1) | WFH
Job Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and seasoned Project Engineer specializing in Land Development to join our remote team. This role entails leading engineering projects and collaborating with a talented team of professionals. You will leverage your expertise in design, modeling, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) to drive impactful initiatives while ensuring adherence to industry standards. This position also provides an opportunity to mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct work efforts of Engineers-in-Training (EITs), CAD Operators, and Designers.
- Design various civil engineering projects, including grading, drainage, water and sewer systems, and utilities.
- Draft, review, and finalize complex technical reports with minimal oversight.
- Conduct thorough reviews of utility and drainage reports and offer professional certification.
- Independently develop detailed and intricate engineering models.
- Lead client and regulatory review meetings, effectively presenting technical information.
- Ensure adherence to applicable codes, best practices, and quality standards throughout all projects.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and tasks while providing regular status updates.
- Prepare cross-sections for project documentation and format base files for public works endeavors.
- Perform hydraulic and hydrology calculations as required.
- Create project specifications and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Ensure timely completion of administrative tasks, including time tracking.
- Participate in project team meetings and public engagements, which may occur outside regular hours.
- Achieve a billable utilization rate of 75-85%, allowing for dedicated time towards professional development, company initiatives, and community involvement.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of four years of experience in project planning and execution for land development projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with scheduling software is advantageous.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with an ability to collaborate across various disciplines.
- Strong organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making capabilities.
- Knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and best practices.
- Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
Qualifications
- An active Professional Engineering (PE) License is required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extensive periods.
- Occasional travel to project sites may be necessary.
- Capability to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion.
- Proficient manual dexterity for operating a computer keyboard and calculator.
- Standard office environment with typical noise levels.
