Principal Systems Engineer – Remote (Finance)

Overview
Evaluate, select, design, install, implement, configure, upgrade and optimize the performance of Allscripts application systems, databases and assigned technologies required to deliver infrastructure for internal and client-facing applications.
This is a Remote role.
Responsibilities
- Manages, maintains, monitors and supports the infrastructure environment in assigned network technology domain.
- Installs, configures and supports network hardware and software required to operate network technology.
- Works with operations to provide ongoing maintenance including updates, patches, and upgrades to network equipment.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues in network technology including hardware, software, operating systems and application-related issues; conducts performance monitoring, systems health checks and capacity planning.
- Identifies the common causes of defects, prioritizes them and systematically removes them to prevent reoccurrence and reduce the overall defect injection rate (DIR).
- Ensures validation has happened (peer, stakeholders) and all review comments have been closed/integrated before delivery of any artifacts.
- Ensures the quality of the deliverables as per the defined defects standards.
- Takes complete ownership of the assigned task and reports progress of the project/task to all stakeholders timely; keeps all stakeholders informed of scope creep and schedule delays.
- Provides technical direction and expertise within the team; leadership may be provided by assigning work to others.
- Identifies issues prior to client impact, documents issues, and collaborates with individuals and teams from different areas of the organization to drive product improvement.
- Leads teams through adversity and critical incidents, helps to drive closure, and seeks resolution when issues are escalated.
- Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Standardizes and automates processes and monitoring using scripting technology; understands and follows change management procedures.
- Develops technical and system design documentation.
- Participates in a squad-based role, working with other technical SMEs to support clients within the squad. Requests may come in various ways such as RITMs, SCTask, INCs, and performing CHGs through ServiceNow.
Qualifications
Academic and Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent business/technical experience in networking.
Experience:
- 10+ years relevant work experience; 8 years at the Principal level or equivalent experience (Preferred).
- Must show proven track of being in a leadership role working with lower-level engineers and being an escalation point from an operations perspective while handling projects and working with architecture.
- 5 years of total experience should be at the Expert level (Required).
- CCNA level knowledge (Cisco) (Required).
- CCNP/CCIE level knowledge (Cisco) (Required).
- Route/Switch, Security, Data Center, SD-WAN knowledge.
- Azure cloud knowledge (Preferred).
- Fortinet/Palo Alto knowledge (Preferred).
- Understanding of monitoring tools, Wireshark, and packet captures.
- Knowledge of circuit vendor relationships and MACD.
- Lead efforts in writing or assisting in knowledge base articles.
- Working closely with security on any audit reviews in addition to performing audit remediations.
- Excellent client communication skills and providing white glove service to clients.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 10% of travel may be required (Visit client site or yearly team meeting).
- May require other travel for business needs.
Working Arrangements:
- Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.

Salary Range:
$126,448 – $153,002 USD
