Associate Litigation Attorney – Remote / Work from Home (WFH)

Osman & Smay LLC, an employment law firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced associate attorney with 5+ years of litigation experience. This is a remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to handle a substantial caseload while also helping to expand the firm’s local presence.
The ideal candidate will be admitted to or eligible for reciprocal admission to the Kansas and Missouri bar associations. This role focuses on litigation involving discrimination, retaliation, FMLA, unpaid wages, and breach of contract claims. Courtroom and deposition experience is essential.
Compensation
The base salary for this position ranges from $85,000 to $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, the position offers significant performance-based bonuses. Previous associates in this role have earned up to $150,000 annually when combining base salary, bonuses, and benefits depending on results and contributions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage existing litigation and pre-litigation employment law cases, including discrimination, wage/hour disputes, and retaliation claims.
- Handle client intake, communications, and case management from start to finish.
- Conduct document review, legal research, and draft legal memoranda, motions, briefs, pleadings, and discovery responses.
- Take and defend depositions, attend court hearings, and oversee discovery.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of litigation experience (employment law experience preferred but not required).
- Active license to practice law in Kansas & Missouri or eligibility for reciprocity.
- Exceptional communication, research, writing, and organizational skills.
- Strong time-management and ability to prioritize effectively.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional home office environment.
